Our Facilities

We started Cafesmo modestly, but with grand aspirations and tangible goals. At the beginning, in 2017, we were packed in our old, small office like sardines in a tin box.

But, since that humble start we’ve grown significantly and with the support of the World Bank and others we’ve been able to modernize and expand our facilities considerably since 2019.

Just before the start of the 2019/20 harvest, we’ve inaugurated our new wet mill, which has a much bigger capacity, but which uses 90% less water.

And we have two new GrainPro patios of 75m2 each to dry our specialty coffees. We’ll also have new storage facilities available, at the very end of 2020.

On the 1st of October 2020, we moved into our new office building. It’s a tad too big for our current needs, because we’ve included our projected needs for the next ten years. The building is modern and comfortable, but without any luxuries.

In our brand new cupping lab we’ve invested more resources and it features some of the best equipment the market has to offer. That’s because our cupping lab is at the very heart of what we do: produce, process, and prepare the best coffees that we can find. Here, we constantly control, measure, experiment, innovate, and further improve, the profiles of each of our coffees. It’s worth every penny!
