Labor policies
Child labor is not permitted
We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, religion, social background or political views
Sexual harassment, as well as physical and verbal maltreatment are prohibited
Employees will receive medical care in case of an emergency
Extra hours are voluntary and remunerated
Forced labor is not allowed under any circumstances
Pregnant women will be protected at all times against labor that may harm the safety or health of their baby
Employees can be part of a labor union without restrictions
Trainings that are relevant for the coffee industry will be organized for producers and employees
Employees and producers will be trained in health, hygiene, and safety on the job
Employees will be provided with personal safety equipment relevant for their job
Environmental policies
Tree felling is not permitted
Buffering zones as well as water sources and streams must be protected and conserved on all plantations
The ecosystem of each plantation must be preserved and maintained
All plantations must provide basic services to their employees
All plots must have protective boundaries made of local plants
Hunting is prohibited
It is forbidden to burn trash and waste
Wild animals must never be domesticated or held in captivity
It is prohibited to dispose of residual water or solid waste in water bodies or water streams
All plantations participate in forest conservation and reforestation.
